Roxanne – Director, Adolescent and Adult Accredited Counsellor & EMDR Therapist

Hello, I’m Roxanne, a fully qualified counsellor and EMDR therapist passionate about helping people find healing, resilience, and personal growth.
I provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their feelings, overcome challenges, and achieve lasting change.
With experience in working with a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and stress, I understand how deeply these can impact both your personal and professional life.
My approach is integrative, which means I draw from different therapeutic models to tailor the support I offer to your unique needs.
As an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) therapist, I specialise in helping clients process and recover from trauma, PTSD, and distressing life events. This evidence-based therapy can unlock emotional healing and help release the grip that past experiences may have on your present.
I believe in creating a warm, empathetic environment where you feel truly heard and supported. Together, we’ll work to build coping strategies, process difficult emotions, and help you move toward a more fulfilling, balanced life.
Whether you’re seeking help for a specific issue or just need someone to talk to, I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing.

Nicky - Integrative Counsellor

I believe that an individual has the ability to achieve what they want from therapy, and it is my role to support them in doing that. Building and maintaining a relationship with a client is hugely important and I put the individual at the centre of that relationship.
I work integratively which means I see a client as an individual and choose a therapeutic approach (or approaches) that will work for them and what they bring to counselling. It may be important to work with what has happened in childhood or have goals to work on specific issues. Or it may be that a client just needs a space where someone listens to them who isn’t involved in their day-to-day life. I offer all my clients a safe, non-judgemental space, providing empathy and respect.

I work with adults and teenagers, offering support with a wide range of different issues. I am warm and empathic, providing a safe, confidential space where you can explore thoughts and feelings, at your own pace, without judgement. I am here to listen and to support you while you work through any difficulties and challenges you might be facing. I work in a way that is led by you in what you are hoping to gain from counselling. I treat each of my clients as an individual and I tailor the sessions to suit your individual needs. Alongside my private work, I also work for a bereavement charity and for a women's charity who support people affected by abuse. Some of the areas I have worked in include: supporting people experiencing issues with depression, anxiety, anger, loneliness, low self-esteem/self-image, low confidence, grief and loss, trauma, abuse, suicidal thoughts, relationships, family life, work stress and job loss, managing conflict. In addition to working for the women's charity and bereavement charity, I have a real passion for men's mental health, and working with the LGBTQIA+ community. It is a great privilege and a humbling experience to witness my client's growth and see them reclaim their power, identity and sense of self-worth, and I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Testimonials from clients

My son had major anxiety issues, these started during Covid but got worse as he was about to move to secondary school. His transition into a new school was ok, but then he started to get very badly bullied to the point that we had to change schools in the middle of year 7. He started with Charlotte at The Counselling Practice, and had a few face to face sessions then went on line. This helped him immensely, with his choice to change school and his attitude towards himself. I can not thank them enough for the work that they did with him, he is now confident and happy with his life.
